Three Mounties holding up coffee cups

On October 2nd at 10 a.m. we’re inviting you to join us on Coffee with a Cop Day to chat some of your local Mounties and share a cup of coffee all in an informal, neutral setting.

We recognize many of you don’t get the an opportunity to meet with police officers informally, ask us questions and find out more about the people who police their community. This is a chance for collaboration in policing in a grassroots way.

Coffee with a Cop was launched in Hawthorne, California in 2011 when Officers from the Hawthorne Police Department were looking for ways to interact more successfully with the citizens they served each day. They were looking for ways to continue to establish trust within their community and took a step away from the growing methods of online communication to more traditional in-person approach.
Coffee with a Cop events are now held in all 50 states and the program has also expanded to outside the Unites States to Canada, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Latin America.

The Coquitlam RCMP looks forward to hosting this initiative as a part of our ongoing community outreach.
